Tamika is also the co-founder of Until Freedom, an intersectional social justice organization that serves as a clearinghouse for organizers, activists, attorneys, artists, celebrities, formerly incarcerated individuals, and others who share a passion for liberty. For her significant contributions to society, Tamika has been honored as one of Time 100’s Most Influential People, featured on Fortune’s list of the World’s Greatest Leaders, and received the Phoenix Award from the Congressional Black Caucus.

In 2021, Tamika authored her acclaimed book "STATE OF EMERGENCY: How We Win In The Country We Built," a title that captures the urgency of her powerful speech during the George Floyd protests in Minneapolis. Her unwavering commitment to truth, equity, and justice has inspired a new generation of activists and firmly established her as a leading voice in the fight for social change.

Tamika's upcoming memoir, "I Live to Tell a Story: Love, Legacy, and Resilience," deepens her influence as a champion for justice and reveals the woman behind the movement. This profoundly personal narrative takes readers from her childhood in Harlem, through the trials of finding her voice as an activist, to the challenges of navigating cancel culture, single motherhood, and battles with addiction. Tamika’s story is one of profound resilience, a testament to love, and a celebration of the legacy she continues to build.
